S&T Sweeps GLVC Football Weekly Accolades

INDIANAPOLIS – Missouri S&T graduate student quarterback Jake Farrell, junior safety Peyton Webster, and junior kicker Layne Ryals have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jake Farrell, Missouri S&T

Major: MBA
Team Result: 42-40 W at Southwest Baptist (9/27)
  • Completed 33-of-47 pass attempts (70%) for 402 yards and three touchdowns
    • First S&T quarterback since 2018 and first GLVC quarterback since 2022 to throw for 400 yards in a game
    • Tossed touchdown passes of one, nine, and 23 yards
  • Converted 3-of-4 passes for 54 yards on final drive that resulted in game-winning field goal with two seconds left
  • Leads conference in passing yards (1,418) and tied for first in passing touchdowns (12)
  • Earns first career Offensive Player of the Week Award
  • Last Miners’ Offensive Player of the Week: Tyler Gioia (10/7/24)
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Peyton Webster, Missouri S&T

Major: Architectural Engineering

  • Nabbed two interceptions and recovered one fumble
    • First interception set up an S&T touchdown before halftime
    • Second pick stopped an SBU drive on S&T’s side of the field
    • Recovered fumbled lateral on final play of the game to seal the win
  • Recorded nine tackles, including five solo stops
  • Earns first career Defensive Player of the Week Award

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Layne Ryals, Missouri S&T

Major: Mechanical Engineering
Team Result: 42-40 W at Southwest Baptist (9/27)
  • Went 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, including a 23-yard make to win the game
    • Longest conversion came from 41 yards, his ninth career field goal from 40-plus yards
  • Converted all three extra-point attempts
  • Improved to 9-of-9 on field goals this season
  • Leads GLVC kickers in scoring with 40 points and ranks second in the league overall
  • Earns second career Special Teams Player of the Week Award (9/8/25)
