EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The second day of the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Swimming and Diving Championships was filled with action, as six league records were broken on Wednesday at the Deaconess Aquatics Center in Evansville, Indiana.
For the men, Drury tallied 387 points to best second-place Indianapolis (380). McKendree is third with 344.5 points, followed in order by Missouri S&T (185), Quincy (179), Lewis (160.5), Missouri-St. Louis (150), William Jewell (107), Rockhurst (95), Truman (72), and Southwest Baptist (66).
Drury scored 560.5 points on the women’s side, while Indianapolis (514.5) and Missouri-St. Louis (252) sit second and third, respectively. Lewis (219) and Rockhurst (182) respectively follow in fourth and fifth, while William Jewell (172), McKendree (171), Quincy (131), and Truman (129) are sixth through ninth, and Southwest Baptist (87) rounds out the results in 10th.
Nine GLVC champions were crowned Wednesday, with four of those event winners setting a new league standard, and two setting a new record and prelims and then going faster in the finals. The women’s 3-meter Diving champion was crowned after the morning prelims session in which UIndy’s Megan Sunderman took gold with 435.50 points, with Drury’s Piera Rufino (407.50), and Ana Lewis (391.20) claiming silver and bronze medals, respectively.
- Women’s 1000 Freestyle
- UMSL’s Justice Beard won with a time of 9:49.78.
- Drury’s Rianne Rose finished second with UMSL’s Libby Smith in third.
- Men’s 1000 Freestyle
- UIndy’s Swann Plaza set a new GLVC record with a time of 8:53.72
- McKendree’s Miguel Cavalhosa finished second with his Bearcat teammate Jakub Rynkiewicz finishing third.
- Plaza and Cavalhosa’s times were NCAA Provisional ‘A’ marks.
- Women’s 200 IM
- UIndy’s Celina Schmidt won with a time of 2:00:03
- The Drury duo of Gwen Bergum (2:01.22) and Nikol Maniko (2:02.64) rounded out the podium.
- Men’s 200 IM
- UIndy’s Jeremias Pock broke the record in prelims with a time of 1:44.07 then won the event with a new record of 1:43.63.
- Drury’s Ivan Adamchuk (1:46.14) and McKendree’s Tyler Bardak (1:46.56) placed second and third.
- Pock’s time was good enough for an NCAA Provisional ‘A’ Mark.
- Women’s 50 Freestyle
- UIndy’s Kirabo Namutebi broke the record in the prelims (22.28) and bested that mark in the finals with a swim of 22.20.
- Drury’s Ashlyn Moore (23.07), and UMSL’s Audrey Lantz (23.27) finished second and third.
- Namutebi’s time was good enough for an NCAA Provisional ‘A’ Mark.
- Men’s 50 Freestyle
- Drury’s Lucas Mineur set a new GLVC record with a time of 19.58.
- McKendree’s Vova Gavrysh and UIndy’s Zachary Anthony tie for second, both swimming a time of 19.93.
- Women’s 200 Medley Relay
- UIndy took top spot with a time of 1:40.08
- Team of Valentina Masella, Celina Schmidt, Caprice Schlueter, and Kirabo Namutebi
- Drury placed second (1:41.70) with UMSL placing third (1:42.79)
- The top two times were good enough for an NCAA Provisional Mark.
- Men’s 200 Medley Relay
- UIndy claimed gold with a time of 1:26.82
- Team of Camille Trinquesse, Jeremias Pock, Elias Noe, and Johann Matamoro
- Drury placed second (1:25.99) and McKendree finished third (1:26.58)
- All three times were good enough for an NCAA Provisional Mark.
All first- and second-place finishers are awarded first- and second-team All-GLVC honors.
Day three of the GLVC Championships begins Thursday with preliminaries of the 100 Butterfly, 400 IM, and 200 Free, beginning at 10 AM CT. The men’s 3-meter Diving prelims are set to begin at 12:30 PM CT with finals kicking off at 5:30 PM.
