Six Records Broken on Day One of 2026 GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Six new GLVC records were set on the first day of the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Indoor Track and Field Championships, which are being held at the Athletics and Recreation Center (ARC) on UIndy’s campus.

Leading the women’s championship is Lewis with 49 points. Southwest Baptist follows in second with 20, while Indianapolis is close behind with 18, and Missouri S&T is one point behind with 17 in fourth place. Fifth through eleventh is Maryville (10), Rockhurst (10), Drury (9), Lincoln (9), McKendree (8), Truman State (5), and Illinois Springfield (1). Quincy, Upper Iowa, and William Jewell have not scored any points.
 
On the men’s side, Lewis (52) leads Indianapolis (49) by only three points. Missouri S&T (30), Southwest Baptist (22), Drury (13), and Lincoln (11) round out third through sixth. Rockhurst (6), William Jewell (4), McKendree (3), Maryville (2), Truman State (2), and Quincy (1) are seventh through twelfth. Illinois Springfield has yet to score.
 
In the prelims, Lincoln’s Aaliyannah Anderson ran a 8.44 60m hurdles, Maryville’s Sarai Brown ran a 7.37 60m dash, Maryville’s Harry Mitchell ran a 47.88 400m dash, and Southwest Baptist’s Marcus Jones ran a 21.59 200m dash. Lewis’ Evan Horgan ran a 14:23.08 5000m run in the finals and Lewis’ Levi Graham threw a 22.17m (72’-9.00”) weight throw to set new GLVC records.

Individually, medals were earned in the women’s pentathlon and men’s pole vault, as well as the men’s and women’s weight throw, long jump, 5,000-meter run, and Distance Medley Relay.

The top-three finishers in all finals events are named All-Conference honorees.

Sunday’s docket opens with the conclusion of the men’s heptathlon at 9 AM ET, as Lewis’ Neil Erasmus (2,805 points), UIndy’s Cole Hurt (2,773), and Truman’s Hayden Long (2,727) currently hold the top-three positions.

In Sunday’s field events, the men will compete in the finals of the high jump, triple jump, and shot put, while the women will crown winners in the high jump, triple jump, shot put, and pole vault. The field events open at 11:30 AM.

Running events commence at 1:30 PM with the mile run before the 60-meter hurdles get underway at 2:10 PM. The 400-, 60-, 800-, 200-, and 3,000-meter races will also take place in that order throughout the afternoon and evening, before the event concludes with the 4x400-meter relay at 4:55 PM.
