Four GLVC Baseball Student-Athletes Earn D2CCA All-American Honors

ST. LOUIS – The D2CCA's All-American teams were announced Thursday, with Indianapolis' Austin Bode, and UMSL's Mitch Bonczkowski, and Eli Cartwright, and Rockhurst Michael Laudando receiving honors.

This is the first D2CCA All-American honor since the Greyhounds reeled off an All-American in three consecutive seasons from 2022-24, with Xavier Rivas, Drew Donaldson, and Caleb Vaughn being the recipients in each of those three seasons. Bode becomes only the second designated hitter to be awarded an All-American nod in any of the three All-American lists (NCBWA, D2CCA, and ABCA/Rawlings), with Ben Sondgeroth's NCBWA third-team selection the only other time that's happened in program history.

Bonczkowski was a First Team selection by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and a Second Team pick by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Cartwright landed on the Third Team on both the NCBWA and D2CCA squads.

Laudando becomes the second Hawk to earn D2CCA All-American honors since the D2CCA All-America program began in 2007. RU's Mark Sappington was a D2CCA Third Team Pitcher selection in 2012.
