UIndy Finishes Top Three in Final Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings, Entire GLVC Contingent Represented

CLEVELAND – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) closed out the 2025-26 academic season with all 15 member institutions ranked in the final Division II Learfield Directors' Cup standings, as reported on June 10, including Indianapolis at No. 3 with 832.0 points.

This is the Greyhounds sixth consecutive top-5 finish, and 18th-straight top-20 result. This year also marks the third time that UIndy has placed in the top three, joining its first third-place showing in 2021-22 and its memorable second-place finish in 2023-24.

The Greyhounds' final tally was boosted by a successful spring season that yielded 386.50 points. UIndy racked up five top-10 showings this spring, including a World Series appearance by the Greyhound baseball team, anational quarterfinal showing by women's lacrosse, a Super Regional berth from softball, a trip to the NCAA DII Championship by men's tennis, and a ninth-place finish at nationals by men's outdoor track & field.

McKendree (504.0 points) and Maryville (494.0) were the next-highest ranked league members at No. 27 and 28, respectively. Lewis (484.5) landed 30th and Missouri-St. Louis (439.75) appeared at No. 37, giving the league five institutions in the top 40. The GLVC only trailed the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) for number of top-40 representatives.

Rockhurst (298.0; 71st) and Missouri S&T (225.5; 97th) were also top-100 performers. The remaining league contingent placed in the following order: No. 105 Drury (215.0), No. 138 Lincoln (150.0), No. 141 Quincy (149.0), No. 184 Illinois Springfield (79.0), No. 187 Southwest Baptist (76.0), No. 196 William Jewell (68.0), No. 218 Upper Iowa (40.0), and No. 228 Truman State (25.0).

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. Overall, 15 sports are counted in the final DII standings, four of which must be women’s volleyball and basketball and men’s basketball and baseball. The next highest (11 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
