INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced the hiring of Sara Borland as Director of Streaming & Communications. She will begin her duties with the league on July 7.
In her role with the Conference, Borland will oversee the GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) and work with Hudl as the league’s primary contact. She will also assist with the administration and execution of GLVC Championships, writing press releases, updating the Conference website, and producing weekly coverage of the league’s 27 sponsored sports.
GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich said, “We were fortunate to have a deep pool of talented candidates for our position, however a combination of Sara’s personality, energy, and practical experience in the field made her the ideal choice for this position. We look forward to welcoming Sara to the GLVC staff and are confident she will provide exceptional service to our member institutions, administrators, teams, coaches, and student-athletes.”
Borland comes to the GLVC after recently graduating from Indiana University Bloomington in May 2026. While at IU, Borland contributed to more than 60 live broadcasts across nine sports for Big Ten Plus (B1G+) StudentU Productions, including conference and NCAA Tournament contests. As a producer, she managed production crews of more than 15 students and staff while creating rundowns, storyboards, and other elements essential to live event coverage. She also gained extensive experience as a graphics and score operator, producing on-air graphics and ensuring broadcasts met conference standards.
The Indianapolis native further expanded her production experience as an associate producer for Indiana football with Cream and Crimson Studios, assisting with graphics, replay, and in-game storytelling. Borland also directed live high school sports broadcasts for Indiana SRN.
Borland earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media with a concentration in Sports Media from IU. She played basketball in high school, her favorite food is sushi, and enjoys traveling and camping. Borland resides in Indianapolis, Indiana.
