2020 GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship Returns to UIndy
The 2020 Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held at the Athletics & Recreation Center (ARC) on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Feb. 29 through Mar. 1. The 2020 edition marks the 21st annual GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championship.
The two-day event will once again be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network. Nearly 13 hours of coverage will be made available for free for all visitors at GLVCSN.com.
In 2019, UIndy successfully defended its men's title, scoring 163 points over the two-day event and topping runner-up McKendree (125) by 38 points. The margin of victory is the largest at the GLVC Championship meet since UIndy defeated Missouri S&T 200-98 in 2013.
The Greyhounds now own six GLVC indoor titles, followed by Lewis with five. Former GLVC member SIU Edwardsville follows with four, while Missouri S&T has earned one.
Lewis captured the 2019 women's title in record fashion scoring 168.5 points over the two-day event to edge out UIndy (167) by one-and-a-half points to set the narrowest margin of victory in the Championships’ 20-year history. In 2018, Bellarmine set the GLVC record after the Knights defeated Lewis by four points, 143-139.
Bellarmine (86) placed third overall, while Missouri S&T (53) and McKendree (43.5) were fourth and fifth.
Lewis owns the women's lead with seven titles, followed by SIU Edwardsville with five GLVC wins, while Bellarmine (3) and Indianapolis (1) have also captured past crowns.
