Maryville to Host 2020 GLVC Cross Country Championships at Principia College
The 2020 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, with Maryville serving as host.
For the seventh-straight season, the GLVC Cross Country Championships will be streamed tape-delayed on the GLVC Sports Network. The date and time the event will air is still to be determined.
The 2020 postseason race will open with the "B" races for the men and women at 2 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. CT, respectively. The 42nd annual men's 8,000-meter Championship "A" race will commence at 3:30 p.m., followed by the 37th edition of the women's 6,000-meter run at 4:15 p.m. Due to COVID-19 race limits determined in the GLVC's Plan to Proceed, the top four teams from the East and West Divisions qualified for the Championship's A race.
The top-placing men's and women's teams from the A race will be named the 2020 GLVC Champion, respectively. In addition, the fastest 15 individual men's finishers and the fastest 15 individual women's finishers from either the A or B race will be named All-GLVC, and the GLVC Individual Champion and GLVC Runner of the Year will be given to the runner with the fastest time of the day. The top-finishing freshman across both races will garner GLVC Freshman of the Year honors.
No spectators will be allowed at the event.
