GLVC Women's Golf Championship
Heads to Panther Creek Country Club

The 2019 Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship will be held at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois, on April 26-28. This year's event marks the 21st annual GLVC Women's Golf Championship, and the second time in 10 years that the tournament has been played away from Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Illinois.

The event will be a 54-hole format with a total of 18 holes played on each day of competition.

The GLVC Women's Golf Championship will once again be streamed live and free on all GLVC Sports Network platforms, including GLVCSN.com, iOS/Android mobile apps, and Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV OTT apps. A complete schedule will be announced during championship week.

Indianapolis (12), Drury (2), Lewis (1), and Southern Indiana (1), along with former GLVC members Northern Kentucky (3) and SIU Edwardsville (1), have each won the GLVC Women's Golf Championship.

The top-five finishers at the GLVC Women's Golf Championship are named All-GLVC and the top finishing individual earned medalist honors. The remaining golf awards are determined by season results and a coaches vote.

Last season, UIndy fired a 1-under-par 287 in the final round to reset the school's own GLVC record of 292. The Greyhounds (296-303-287-886) also broke its own GLVC mark for 54 holes, besting its winning effort of 889 back in 2016. Additionally, the UIndy earned its title by 37 strokes to set the league's new largest margin of victory. Missouri-St. Louis finished second at 923 (300-314-309), followed by Illinois Springfield (956), Southern Indiana (989), and Truman State (1000) in the top five.

For just the second time in GLVC history, an individual won back-to-back medalist honors, as UIndy senior Paxton DeHaven successfully defended her conference crown with a winning effort of 3-over 219 (74-74-71). It was the third-straight and sixth occasion overall where a Greyhound captured the GLVC title, as teammates Kylie Raines and Katharina Keilich finished as co-medalists in 2016.

UIndy teammates Keilich (75-76-72-223) and Pilar Echeverria (74-79-70-223) tied for third, just one shot behind Truman State's Nicolle Barmettler (73-78-71-222), while Greyhounds' Annika Haynes (73-75-79-227) finished fifth overall.

Admission to the 2019 GLVC Women's Golf Championship is free to the public.
