Historic Season Ends for UIndy Men’s Soccer in NCAA Final Four



COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Indianapolis men's soccer team had its historic 2021 campaign come to a close Thursday night in the NCAA Semifinal against Charleston (WV).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds found the scoreboard first in the 30th minute when Kendall Allen corralled a ball from Felix Schuetz and fired a shot into the back of the net. This helped UIndy hold a 1-nil advantage at the half.
 
 
Charleston found itself back into the match with a late goal in the 84th minute. Neither team came out ahead in the two overtime periods, but it was the Golden Eagles eventually winning 5-3 in penalty kicks.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-Charleston managed 15 shots while UIndy had just nine.
-A total of 38 fouls were called in the match, with UC having a match-high 22.
-UIndy had three yellow cards while UC had one.
 
FINAL NOTES
The best season in UIndy men's soccer program history has come to a close. The team claimed both the GLVC regular season and tournament championships while winning the Super Region 3 for a back-to-back trip to the Final Four.
