INDIANAPOLIS – After serving the 2021 season as an assistant coach for the University of Indianapolis men's soccer program,
Gabe Hall steps into the head role for the Greyhounds as the ninth head coach in program history, the school announced Friday.

Hall takes the reins from former head coach
John Higgins, who left UIndy last month to take over as the head man of the Xavier University men's soccer program. Last fall, the pair helped guide the Hounds to the most successful season in program history, going 18-1-3 while claiming both the
GLVC Tournament and
Super Region 3 championships on the way to their second national semifinal appearance in as many seasons.
"Gabe quickly separated himself in our search for the next head coach of UIndy men's soccer," said
Jackie Paquette, Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator. "His knowledge of our program, the landscape of the game and of UIndy Athletics as a whole make him a fantastic fit for continuing the success of UIndy men's soccer. He has known and lived the 'United As One' philosophy and will continue the strong culture of our program."
With the help of Hall's mentorship, the Greyhounds grabbed a total of eight All-GLVC honors last fall, as well as the conference's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards. UIndy also fielded five all-region performers and two All-Americans, while Hall and the rest of the UIndy staff was tabbed as the 2021 NCAA DII Midwest Region Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches.
Hall came to UIndy after serving two seasons (2019-20) with crosstown Marian University as the women's soccer assistant, helping the Knights to an NAIA national runner-up finish in 2019. Prior to Marian, Hall spent five seasons (2013-18) as the head coach at GLVC-rival Missouri S&T, where he led the Miners to a 44-34-15 record with a GLVC tournament appearance in each of the five seasons.
He also has experience assisting at Dayton (2011 & 2012) and New Mexico (2008 & 2009). In his playing days, he was a two-year captain and starting goalkeeper at San Francisco State University after spending his first two seasons as a starting keeper here at UIndy.
