UIndy Repeats as GLVC Women's Lacrosse Champions

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis women’s lacrosse team successfully defended their Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women’s Lacrosse Championship as the Greyhounds defeated Lindenwood University Sunday afternoon by a score of 14-5 at Key Stadium.

The top-seeded Greyhounds (18-1) jumped out to a 7-1 lead in that they eventually took to halftime with Mackenzie Winn netting a pair of scores in the first 20 minutes. The Greyhounds would stretch their lead out to 10-1 after scoring three quick goals in the third quarter. No. 2 Lindenwood (15-4) would score three of the game’s next four goals at one point to avoid the game going to a running clock but were not able to get any closer than within seven goals as the Greyhounds held on for the win.

Mackenzie Winn led the Greyhounds with six points on four goals and two assists, while four other Hounds scored multiple goals. Cassidy King and Audrey Moran each made six saves between the pipes for the Greyhounds.

Hennessey Evans netted a hat trick for Lindenwood, while also finishing with a caused turnover and a ground ball.
