INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced today (Apr. 25) that Visit Quad Cities will partner with the 2024 GLVC Women's Golf Championship, which is set for April 26-28 at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill.
“We are grateful for the support of Visit Quad Cities as a partner for the 2024 GLVC Women’s Golf Championship at Oakwood Country Club,” said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich. “Their staff has been instrumental in assisting the Conference office staff with securing local hotel properties for the championship staff and officials, securing volunteers to assist us during the event, as well as covering meals for tournament staff throughout the tournament.”
This is the first year the women’s golf postseason has been hosted at Oakwood CC and will again feature a 54-hole stroke play event where the individual medalist will be awarded, followed by the top-four teams after stroke play competing in medal/match play to determine the team champion.
“Bringing the GLVC Women's Golf Championship to the Quad Cities is a great opportunity for us to showcase our region's commitment to sports excellence," said Joan Kranovich, Vice President of Business Growth & Director of Sports QC. "We're excited to provide a fantastic experience for these collegiate student-athletes and share Sports QC's mission of inspiring excellence both on and off the course.”
