UIndy Selected to Repeat as GLVC Women’s Golf Champions

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis was selected in the preseason coaches’ poll as the choice to win the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) women’s golf title, the league office announced on Tuesday.

The preseason poll is selected by the league’s head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.
 
No. 1 Indianapolis
  • Received ten first-place votes and 139 total points.
  • Won their 17th GLVC Championships, defeating Missouri-St. Louis 3-2 in the Championship
  • Placed 16th at the NCAA Championships
  • Ranked 11th in DII and third in the East region by Clippd Rankings.
  • Coached by reigning GLVC Coach of the Year Andy Serketich, who enters his second season at the helm.
  • Return GLVC Individual Medalist Caroline Whallon, and All-GLVC First Team selections Macey Brown, and Ava Ray.
No. 2 Missouri-St. Louis
  • Received three first-place votes and 135 total points.
  • Made the GLVC Match Play Championship, falling to UIndy.
  • Placed 14th at the NCAA Championships
  • Ranked 26th in DII and fifth in the East region by Clippd Rankings.
  • Coached by Troy Halterman, who enters his 11th season in charge.
  • Return GLVC Player of the Year Wilma Zanderau, Freshman of the Year Mayan Covarrubias, and All-GLVC First Team honorees Hillary Currier and Emmy Wahl.
No. 3 Lewis
  • Received 122 total points.
  • Placed ninth at the 2025 GLVC Championships
  • Ranked 56th in DII and 10th in the East region by Clippd Rankings.
  • Coached by Greg Baresel, who enters his third season at Lewis.
 
 No. 4 McKendree
  • Received 104 total points.
  • Placed sixth at the 2025 GLVC Championships
  • Ranked 74th in DII and 12th in the East region by Clippd Rankings
  • Coached by Mikal Guffey, who enters his 11th year in charge of the Bearcats.

Rounding out the poll respectively in fifth through 13th was Illinois Springfield (96 points), Maryville (93), Drury (89), William Jewell (58), Quincy (56), Upper Iowa (46), Rockhurst (33), Truman State (23), and Lincoln (20).
