UIndy’s Ray Claims Medalist Honors at GLVC Women’s Golf Championship; UMSL, UIndy Garner Major Awards

PERU, Ind. – Indianapolis senior Ava Ray won the individual medalist trophy on Saturday after 54 holes of stroke play in the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Golf Championship at Rock Hollow Golf Club. In addition, following the conclusion of stroke play, Missouri-St. Louis senior Wilma Zanderau and UIndy freshman Paige Giovenco earned GLVC major awards for the 2025-26 season.

Ray fired a total of 3-under-par with a 213, carding rounds of 68-71-74 for her first-ever GLVC Championship individual title. She is the fifth-straight and 13th overall UIndy player to win medalist honors at the league’s championship event.

The top-five finishers were named to the All-Tournament Team squad. Joining Ray was Giovenco (73-71-76–220) and Zanderau (75-74-72–221) in second and third place, respectively. Finishing five strokes behind was McKendree’s Chiara Bortolotti (73-76-77–226) in fourth. UMSL’s Hillary Currier (76-73-78–227) and UIndy’s Macey Brown (74-77-76–227) ended in a tie to round out the top five.

On the team side, UIndy (291-295-304–890) beat UMSL (301-301-308–910) by 20 strokes to earn the top seed in Sunday’s medal/match play competition. The second-seeded Tritons will meet No. 3 seed Maryville (308-312-314–934), while the Greyhounds will battle No. 4 seed Lewis (311-313-317–941) after the Flyers snuck into the final spot by just one stroke.

McKendree (316-317-309–942) finished in fifth place, while Illinois Springfield placed sixth with rounds of 314, 322, and 320 (956). Drury (320-321-323–964) landed eight strokes behind the Prairie Stars to finish seventh, and Lincoln (324-328-333–985) secured eighth place. Respectively placing ninth through 13th were Quincy (317-330-347–994), Rockhurst (326-330-343–999), William Jewell (327-347-342–1016), Upper Iowa (338-344-337–1019), and Truman State (338-350-360–1048).
 
Prior to medal/match play lineup selections, Zanderau was honored as GLVC Player of the Year and Giovenco earned Freshman of the Year honors. The All-Conference team, along with the Coach of the Year award and individual and team winner of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, will be announced following a coaches' vote prior to NCAA Regional competition.

The start time for Sunday’s semifinal rounds of medal/match play will be 9 a.m. ET. UIndy and Lewis begin their match off of the first tee, while UMSL and Maryville will start from No. 10.
