UIndy, Ray Sit Atop Leaderboard After First 36 Holes at GLVC Women’s Golf Championship

PERU, Ind. – Indianapolis holds the team lead by 16 strokes, while the Greyhounds' Ava Ray is in first in the individual race after the first two rounds of the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Golf Championship on Friday at Rock Hollow Golf Club.

Behind UIndy (586) is Missouri-St. Louis (602), which holds a comfortable lead over third-place Maryville (620) and fourth-place Lewis (624). Sitting nine strokes behind in fifth place is McKendree (633). Illinois Springfield (636) claimed sixth place, followed by Drury (641) in seventh place. Rounding out the field in eighth through 13th are Quincy (647), Lincoln (652), Rockhurst (656), William Jewell (674), Upper Iowa (682), and Truman State (688). The top-four teams at the end of the third round of stroke play on Saturday will advance to Sunday's medal/match play semifinals.

Ray was the only player to currently sitting under par at minus-five (139). The senior from Franklin, Ind. shot the best 18-hole score of the day with a 66 in the first round. She is trailed by her teammate Paige Giovenco, who is at even par (144), and Maryville's Fernanda Diaz-Pizarro (+3, 147). After the top three, a trio of golfers are tied for fourth place at plus-five (149): McKendree's Chiara Bortolotti and UMSL's Wilma Zanderau and Hillary Currier. UIndy's Macey Brown (+7, 151) hit the clubhouse in the seventh spot, with UMSL's Mayan Covarrubias and Drury's Chloe Wills (+8, 152) following closely behind in a tie for eighth. Last year's GLVC Individual Champion, Caroline Whallon of UIndy, rounds out the top 10 at 9-over-par (153).
 
In anticipation of inclement weather on Saturday morning, the first tee times have pushed back from 8 AM ET to 10:30 AM.

The GLVC Women's Golf Championship will continue to be streamed live behind a paywall on all GLVC Sports Network platforms, including GLVCSN.com, iOS/Android mobile apps, and Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV OTT apps. At the conclusion of the third round, the individual medalist and top-five All-Tournament Team honorees will be honored live on the broadcast before the Medal/Match Play Selection Show ends the day's action.
