Jewell's Epp Repeats as CSC Academic All-American® of the Year, Three Other GLVC Baseball Players Recognized



AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Baseball Academic All-America® teams Tuesday afternoon with four Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) student-athletes making the cut. In addition to making the First Team, William Jewell shortstop Alex Epp was honored as the NCAA Division II Academic All-American® of the Year for the second-straight year.
 
Epp – a senior civil engineering major from Wichita, Kansas – claimed his third-consecutive First Team selection, also earning the recognition in 2022 and 2023. He recently graduated from Jewell with a 3.93 cumulative GPA. The Cardinals' shortstop was recently named a Division II All-American by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association. Epp led Division II this season with 85 runs scored, while hitting for a .411 (85-for-207) batting average at the plate. He hit 19 home runs this year with 57 RBI and he added 12 stolen bases.

Missouri S&T senior hurler Dylan Mollett landed on the Second Team after posting a 3.97 GPA as an engineering management major. Jewell senior outfielder Jake Wilcox (3.84, psychological sciences) was joined by Indianapolis graduate outfielder Caleb Vaughn (3.72/4.00, Master of Science in sport management) in earning Third Team recognition.
