GLVC Women’s Soccer Represented by 11 Athletes on D2CCA All-Midwest Region Teams

INDIANAPOLIS – 11 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) women's soccer players earned recognition on the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region First and Second Teams, as nominated and selected by the region's sports information directors.

Eight GLVC players were named to the First Team, including a Rockhurst duo of GLVC Offensive Player of the Year Anna Lantz and midfielder Caitlyn Smith. The McKendree duo of midfielder Maggie Gleckler and defender Zoe Cormier, join GLVC Freshman of the Year, Maryville midfielder Sophia Carter, GLVC Defender of the Year Missouri-St. Louis Taylor Martin, and Missouri S&T forward Adriana Benassi, Quincy forward Rebecca Rheinheimer, rounded out the other first-team honorees.

Three GLVC student-athletes also landed on the Second Team. Drury’s duo of GLVC Goalkeeper of the Year, Drury’s Katy Fitzler, and midfielder Elena Perez as well as McKendree forward Maddie Mauch were the conference’s second-team winners.

The 13 first-team All-Region selections will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration.
