Rich Edwards Announced as New GLVC Supervisor of Football Officials

INDIANAPOLIS – Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Commissioner Jim Naumovich has announced the hiring of Rich Edwards as the league's Supervisor of Football Officials, it was released Wednesday. Edwards will take over for Mike McCann who announced his retirement last month.
 
“We are pleased to welcome Rich Edwards as the new GLVC Supervisor of Football Officials” said Naumovich. “He brings a wealth of officiating experience to this position and has been actively engaged with GLVC football since we started the sport in 2012.  Rich is well positioned to lead the ongoing development of our officiating program.”

Edwards, currently an official for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the Coordinator of Officials for the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) in the NAIA has experience officiating at the Division II level as he was an official for the GLVC in 2012 and 2014 as well as being the Assistant Coordinator of Officials for the GLVC from 2016-2021 and 2024. During his career, he officiated two FBS Bowl games, two MAC Championship games, two FCS Playoff games, and five Division II Playoff games including the 2013 Division II National Championship game.

In addition to his work in the collegiate ranks, Edwards also officiated and been around the high school level for 28 years, being elected Central Region Vice President in 2014.
