UIndy Claims League-Best 17th GLVC Women’s Golf Title

COAL VALLEY, Ill. – Second-seeded University of Indianapolis earned its 17th Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Golf Championship over top-seeded University of Missouri-St. Louis, 3-2, on Sunday at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill.
 
With the victory, Indianapolis collects its 12th league title in the last 13 years. Additionally, UIndy earned the Conference's automatic qualifying berth into the NCAA East Regional.

The Tritons jumped out of the gate early, as sophomore Hillary Currier shot a 76 to beat Abby Stone (80) before Ava Ray from UIndy claimed the Greyhounds first win, defeating All-GLVC honoree Mayan Covarrubias 73-81.
 
GLVC Individual champion Caroline Whallon defeated Emely Wahl 76-79 as Wilma Zanderau of UMSL added to the Tritons total, shooting a 74, defeating Ellen Caton (85), tying the scores at two apiece.
 
Macey Brown gained the lead on holes 16 and 17 shooting a par on 16 and a birdie on 17 as Julliette LeComte was a stroke behind on each hole. In the end Brown shot a 78 with LeComte shooting an 80, claiming the Greyhounds the 2025 GLVC Women’s Golf Championship.
 
The Greyhounds started the day with a semifinals victory over third-seeded Drury University, 4-1, to advance to the finals, while UMSL secured a 4-1 win over No. 4 University of Illinois Springfield to solidify the championship matchup.
