UIndy, Maryville to Face Off for Fourth-Straight Season in GLVC Women’s Lacrosse Title Bout

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind – The top-two seeds advanced to the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women’s Lacrosse Championship, as No. 1 Indianapolis and No. 2 Maryville secured semifinal victories at Key Stadium on the campus of the University of Indianapolis on Friday.

The top-seeded Greyhounds and second-seeded Saints will square off on Sunday at 12 a.m. ET for the GLVC title. Indianapolis defeated Maryville 13-12 when the two teams met in Indianapolis on April 10. This will be Maryville's fourth consecutive title game appearance, while Indianapolis appears in their sixth.

  • UINDY struck fast and often, placing nine goals past MWSU in the first period.
  • UINDY’s defense locked down the Griffons in the second period, allowing zero goals and only two shots, with one on goal.
  • UINDY’s Megan Ghert had five points in the second quarter, and eight in the first half, including scoring a hattrick in the Q2.
  • UINDY’s Ghert ended with 11 points, five goals and six assists, while Malaena Michielin, the GLVC Midfielder of the Year ended with a game-high six goals.
    • Olivia Bladon and Reese Fahlke ended with four and three goals respectively.
  • Caetryn Gilreath led the MWSU in scoring, netting three goals.
  • UINDY bested MWSU in shots on goal, having 31 on target to the Griffins’ 8.

  • MU and RU could only be separated by two goals at the half, with the Saints leading 11-9.
  • MU’s Paige Murphy, the GLVC Player of the Year, scored four goals and assisted another in half number one.
  • MU clicked into gear in the third quarter, besting RU 6-1, with Helen Bae scoring a hat trick in the stanza.
  • MU’s Bae added another goal in the fourth giving her game total to six goals, a game high.
  • Elisa Magee led RU in goals with three, while Kylee Pickens added two goals of her own as well as an assist to go along with ten draw controls.
  • MU outshot the Hawks 42-19 with RU keeper Kayla Stewart making 11 saves.
