Final Four Squads Remain in 2026 GLVC Baseball Championship Tournament

MARION, Ill. – Indianapolis and Drury secured their spot in the double elimination format after the first day of the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Baseball Championship Tournament, from Mtn. Dew Park in Marion, Illinois.

Fifth-seeded Illinois Springfield and sixth-seeded Maryville earned first round victories, while third-seeded Indianapolis and fourth-seeded Drury avoided defeat in the single-elimination portion of the bracket.
 
Thursday’s matchups are set to start the double elimination portion. #1 Missouri S&T and #4 Drury will start the day at 11 a.m. CT, followed by No. 2 Missouri-St. Louis and No. 3 Indianapolis at 2:30 p.m., with the losers of the two matches facing off to avoid elimination at 6:30 p.m.

  • UIS put up eight runs in the first inning with Kaden Griffitts hitting a three-run homerun to start the scoring.
  • UIS’s six-run fifth and four-run sixth capped off the onslaught.

  • QU came back from a 4-2 deficit in the ninth inning on a one-out homerun by Harry Fandre.
  • QU scored in the top of the 10th with a Byron Blaise RBI single
  • MU walked it off on a wild pitch with Aaris Stolte the winning run.
  • MU was led by Stolte and Steven Schnieder who both had two hits and scored twice.
  • QU’s Fandre and Joe Huffman homered with Isaiah Fudge going 4-for-4, scoring three times
  • MU’s Brayden Rubel pitched 5.1 innings, striking out five batters
  • MU’s Colin Greiner threw the final 2.2 innings, striking out three, and picking up the win.
  • QU’s Logan Mueller pitched three scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

  • UIS jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning with Johnny Wendling lacing a two-run single.
  • DU answered with four runs in the bottom of the first with Carter Wambach hitting a two-run shot.
  • DU grabbed two runs each in the fourth and sixth, with Connor Bain driving in two of them via fielder’s choice and ground-rule double.
  • UIS answered too late with a passed ball bringing a run home and a Corey Boyette solo homerun finalizing the scoreline.
  • DU’s Kaleb Thomas went 5.1 innings with five strikeouts, with Anthony Vita going 3.2 innings picking up the save.
  • UIS Ritchie Snider struck out three in 1.2 innings of relief work

  • UINDY took advantage of MU miscues and never looked back, putting up seven runs in seven innings.
  • UINDY scored their first four runs unearned as Bret Perry and Austin Bode each had an RBI single.
  • UINDY’s Chase Mason homered in the fifth, and a Joey Humphrey two RBI double in the seventh gave the Hounds the 7-0 lead
  • MU rallied with a five inning ninth inning with Tim Leark and Matthew Rauser grabbing two RBI a piece.
  • UINDY starter Aidan Pearson went 7.1 innings with eight strikeouts
  • MU hurler Nolan Miller went two scoreless innings in relief striking out two batters.
