UMSL, Drury, Quincy Garner Final GLVC Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

INDIANAPOLIS – Missouri-St. Louis sophomore right-side Alayna Santel, Drury senior defensive specialist/libero Payton Mitchell, and Quincy sophomore setter Elena Kasavica were named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Players of the Week in women's volleyball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alayna Santel, Missouri-St. Louis

Team Results: 3-0 W vs. William Jewell (11/14) | 3-1 W vs. Rockhurst (11/15)
  • Registered 37 kills (5.29/set) in seven sets
  • Recorded .346 hitting percentage
  • Added 13 digs, four blocks, and two service aces
  • Served an ace on set three and had the final kill in set four to clinch the victory and GLVC regular season title against Rockhurst
  • Best performance came against Rockhurst where she recorded a match-high 21 kills.
  • Earns third career Offensive Player of the Week Award: (10/14/24, 9/23/24)

  • Recorded a career-high 36 digs in a win against Lewis, helping clinch a GLVC Tournament spot.
    • The first appearance for Drury since 2019.
  • Added seven assists and two service aces.
  • Best performance came against Lewis with the 36 digs, as well as four assists.
  • Earns first career Defensive Player of the Week Award
