WILLIAMSVILLE, Ill. – Top-seeded Missouri-St. Louis earned its first-ever Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Volleyball Championship trophy on Sunday, defeating third-seeded Quincy, 3-1, at Williamsville High School Fieldhouse in Williamsville, Ill.
The Tritons claimed their first Conference title under the direction of head coach Ryan Young, who took over the program’s reins in 2010. According to available league records, Missouri-St. Louis is the eighth No. 1 seed to win the Conference championship in the non-divisional format.
With the win, Missouri-St. Louis (26-4) earned the league's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament, its eighth overall and sixth-straight appearance in the postseason event, excluding 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. The Tritons will find out their opponent on Monday night's NCAA Selection Show at 7:30 PM ET.
