EVANSVILLE, IN – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) is coming back to Evansville. Following successful championships in 2023 and 2024, the GLVC has announced that Evansville, Indiana will once again host the Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships in 2026, 2027, and 2028. The events will be held at the state-of-the-art Deaconess Aquatic Center (D.A.C.), with the Evansville Regional Sports Commission (ERSC) serving as the official host.
"We are pleased to be returning to Evansville, IN and the Deaconess Aquatic Center (D.A.C.) and working with the Evansville Regional Sports Commission to host the 2026, 2027, and 2028 GLVC Swimming & Diving Championships,” said GLVC Commissioner Jim Naumovich. “Our coaches believe hosting our conference championships at the same venue where the NCAA Division II National Championships will take place next year is a significant advantage for their teams. The D.A.C. is not only one of the premier venues in the country, but the support the league receives from the community, volunteers, hotels, and local restaurants are all real value-added variables that led to the decision to pursue a three-year agreement.”
One of the nation’s top NCAA Division II conferences for swimming and diving, the GLVC has consistently produced national contenders. Most recently, Drury University captured the 2025 NCAA DII Men’s National Championship, further cementing the GLVC’s reputation as a swimming and diving powerhouse.
"Evansville is honored to host the GLVC Swimming & Diving Championships at the Deaconess Aquatic Center for the next three years,” said Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry. “This commitment underscores our city's dedication to providing top-tier facilities, hospitality, and experiences for college athletes. This partnership not only elevates our city's profile but also brings substantial benefits to our residents and businesses. We look forward to hosting the GLVC’s top Swimming & Diving athletes these next three years, and to showing them the best that Evansville has to offer.”
The 2026 GLVC Swimming & Diving Championships are scheduled for February 9–14 at the Deaconess Aquatic Center. The championships will return in 2027 and 2028, both slated for the second weekend of February.
This announcement marks the first of several major events the Evansville Regional Sports Commission will host at the venue in 2026, including the NCAA Division II National Championships, set for March 9–14.
