Lewis Garners Second GLVC Men’s Lacrosse Championship

 
ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Top-seeded Lewis won its second league title at the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men’s Lacrosse Championship Tournament on Sunday at Lewis Stadium, recording a 16-10 win over second-seeded Maryville.

Lewis becomes the second conference team to win more than one title in the eight-year history of the sport in the league, with their last championship coming in 2024.

  • LEWIS got out to a 3-2 first period lead, out shooting MU 12-7.
  • LEWIS had commanding second quarter to lead 9-5 at the break, using a 5-0 run to increase their lead.
  • Both sides grabbed four goals in the third quarter with MU striking first and LEWIS responding each time.
  • LEWIS capped off their victory by holding MU to only one goal in the fourth quarter.
  • LEWIS was led by Malikye Good and his seven points (six goals and one assist), as well as Carter Korzenski’s five points (four goals and one assist)
  • Caden Donahue made 14 saves for LEWIS.
  • MU’s Trent Zimay had four goals with the GLVC Player of the Year Wyatt Robertson adding three goals of his own.
  • Evan Alfaro made 12 saves for MU.
 
The Flyers now await the NCAA Selection Show Monday May 4  to determine their regional fate. The 2026 NCAA Division II Championship first round through semifinals will take place on campus sites between May 6-17, while the national title game will be played on May 24 in Charlottesville, Virginia at Scott Stadium.
