GLVC Volleyball Championship Tournament
Returns to East Peoria for 38th Annual Event
The 2019 Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament returns to the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, Illinois for the 38th edition of the annual event, Nov. 22-24, and is the sixth consecutive year the postseason has been held at this venue.
Four quarterfinal matches will be contested on Friday, Nov. 22, with the first beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT. A pair of semifinal matches will be played at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, with the championship match held at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24.
Lewis leads the current Conference contingent with 10 titles, followed by UIndy’s five, as well as Southern Indiana, Rockhurst, and Truman State's two. As for former league members, IPFW earned eight titles, Northern Kentucky won seven, and Ashland and SIU Edwardsville captured one title each.
In 2018, fourth-seeded Rockhurst beat No. 2 Drury 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-21) to claim its second league title.
The remainder of the 2018 GLVC Championship Tournament field was comprised of No. 1 Lewis, No. 3 Illinois Springfield, No. 5 Indianapolis, No. 6 Bellarmine, No. 7 McKendree, and No. 8 Truman State.
