ST. LOUIS – Top-seeded Maryville University won its first league title at the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men’s Lacrosse Championship Tournament on Saturday at Maryville Lacrosse Field, recording a 9-8 overtime win over third-seeded Lewis University.
Maryville becomes the fifth conference team to win the title in the seven-year history of the sport in the league.

- LEWIS started hot out of the gates, scoring four-straight goals between the first and second period.
- MU responded with four unanswered scores to tie the game heading into the half.
- The teams traded goals twice in the third quarter, making the score 6-6.
- After two goals from LEWIS’s Malikye Good to start the fourth stanza, MU’s Trent Zimay and Justin Simonson each found the back of the net in the final 3:36 to force overtime.
- Zimay tallied the overtime game-winner to grab the victory.
The Saints now await the NCAA Selection Show tomorrow at 7:30 PM ET to determine their regional fate. The 2025 NCAA Division II Championship first round through semifinals will take place on campus sites between May 7-18, while the national title game will be played on May 25 in Foxborough, Massachusetts at Gillette Stadium.
